ACM MT4 base spreads are equivalent to our traditional Mini, Standard and Premium spreads. However, please note that due to the architecture of the MT4 platform, spreads may vary from our proprietary software.
Please refer to our Spreads and Conditions page for more details.
Our general Trading Conditions apply for the MT4 platform, however with some exceptions:
- Mini, Standard and Premium accounts only.
- ACM cannot guarantee prices, one-click dealing nor market orders on the MT4 platform.
- Margin liquidation on the ACM MT4 platform occurs as follows: When the liquidation threshold is breached, MetaTrader will initiate a closing order on the position with the largest loss. This process frees up some margin for the other positions to remain open. Should the market continue to move against the remaining positions, these positions will subsequently be closed following the same methodology.
- ACM account details cannot be used to access an MT4 account and vice-versa.
- The MT4 platform calculates margin on a net basis and not on an absolute basis like the ACM platforms. For example:
Trader X is long 3 standard lots of USDCHF and hedging his position with 2 standard lots of USDCHF. His account balance is $10,000 with an open profit/loss of + $1000.
ACM Margin Calculation:
Account Balance +/- Open Profit/Loss x 100 = Margin Level
Absolute Positions in USD
10,000 USD + 1000 USD x 100 = 2.2% Margin Level
500,000 USD (3 long, 2 short)
MT4 Margin Calculation:
Account Balance +/- Open Profit/Loss x 100 = Margin Level
Net Positions in USD (Unleveraged)*
10,000 USD + 1000 USD x 100 = 1100% Margin Level
1000 USD (1 long, 4 others cancel out)
* MT4 calculates margin levels excluding utilized leverage
Note on Margin Liquidation Levels: The MT4 margin liquidation level of 100% is equivalent to the ACM platform level of 1%. This is purely a difference in presentation.
