12:13 (CET) - Crude evolution
|
The price of crude had its biggest weekly decline since January, due to the worries about the world's recession and the perspectives that the consumption will stay weak until the financial crisis is over. The dollar's strength is also reducing the demand for commodities. This week, the crude lost 10% due to the speculation about the fuel consumption in the US, the largest buyer and consumer of oil, that should stay on the down side.
The crude price for August fell 89 cents, trading now at 59.52 dollars per barrel, at the New York Mercantile Exchange.
It's worth to mention that from the year's high, registered at June 30th at 73.38 dollars to today, the crude lost 18%.
