Market Brief

EU finance ministers meeting in Brussels today may add details to a plan unveiled last week that called for closer monitoring of the Greek economy. Dubai shares tumbled yesterday amid concern state-owned Dubai World, may fail to present a plan to creditors. The Nikkei lost 0.4%, even as a report showed the Japan’s GDP accelerated 1.1% last quarter and 4.6% in annual growth. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index slumped 0.4%. Markets in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia are closed today for the Lunar New Year holiday and US markets are shut today for Presidents’ Day
